Missionaries and Ministries that we support

Picture
Dr. Hope Taylor
ILE

Hope has served as President of International Leadership Embassy since its inception in 2004. ILE’s emphasis the past year has been leading weekly prayer teams focused on America, her current challenges and her eternal purposes as ordained by Father. Through zoom meetings, conference calls and some in-person leaders conferences, ILE continues to be a passionate voice mobilizing & educating the church. Since 2004 ILE has identified with and heralded Captain Nathan Hale’s historic final words before being hung by the British in New York City in 1776: “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country!’
ILE accompanied a team of Kingdom leaders in late 2020 traveling to numerous strategic sites rallying prayer, faith and engagement in light of the political & cultural upheaval around the 2020 Presidential election.
ILE’s cry to America continues to be ‘America’s best days are ahead!’

Dr. Gerald Johnson
 Final Harvest Ministries

Teacher/Evangelist Dr. Johnson, like so many others, has not been able to preach in churches due to COVID restrictions placed earlier this  year. He and his wife have also been doing one on one evangelism. They hope to start a podcast by the end of the year. They both continue to do everything they can do to advance the Kingdom in their sphere of influence.

Picture
Dr. Alex Philip
New India Evangelistic Association

Dr. Alex Phillips is an amazing Kingdom builder in India.  He is both a medical doctor and an apostolic father raising up churches and leaders. The fledgling work in Nepal continues to grow. While the pandemic has greatly affected the way NIEA operates, it has actually increased their needs. Schools must now operate remotely which is quite a challenge in Bihar with limited internet access. COVID cases taxed the clinic to the maximum, but the staff continued to persevere and the peak has subsided. Dr. Alex and his team have finally gotten a well deserved rest. We will continue sponsoring the disadvantaged children.

Apostle Jim Hodges
FMCI

“Bro. Jim” is the apostlic leader and president of the FMCI network. With over 50 years of ministry around the world, he is known by many as a leading voice in teaching on the Kingdom of God. As a teaching apostle, he has been used extensively in Bible schools, conferences, leadership gatherings and local churches. In his early years, he came to the MOV to teach and preach on the Holy Spirit. Since the early 1990’s he has been an apostolic father to Freedom Gate Church, and we are always blessed to have him minister here annually at our Spring Conference.  Recently, Apostle Jim went to Houston to a church led by two Venezuelans and from there taught six other nations on Imprecatory Prayer.   International travel to Mexico and Ghana will resume as travel opens up.

Picture
Dr. Don Crum
Leadership International

Dr. Don Crum travels nationally and  internationally and oversees hundreds of churches as an apostolic father to many leaders.  Months before the biological weapon attack of Covid, the Lord led Dr. Don to set up a simple video broadcast studio in their home. When Covid hit and the lock down came,  it became clear to them why. Adapting to international travel restrictions, he began doing a lot of live broadcasts and teachings from the home studio into China, Taiwan, Ethiopia and Mexico with great results and response. Dr. Don sends much thanks to the kind and generous prayer and giving of our FGC family, as he continues to minister to the nations and their leaders. Our project this year is to  purchase a new camera to help with their broadcasting needs.
Cheri serves as the Senior Chaplain for the County Juvenile Detention Center and for the University of Texas Hospital.

David Van Fleet
StreetLife Ministries – New York City

StreetLife is an urban ministry located in New York City.  They bring transformation through their homeless outreach, prayer stations, short-term mission trips, and internships. Our long relationship with the Van Fleets has been a blessing as a training ground for missions for our church family. David and Robin Van Fleet continue to reach out to the poor in New York CIty, providing food and clothing to the homeless. David also provides referrals for these people to get assistance, help, counseling, and shelter. He hopes to resume his annual trip to Brazil in 2022.  FGC sent a team to New York City this summer to spend a week at StreetLife. The 19 team members came back with life changing testimonies of the goodness of God and experiences they will never forget. Last year, Pam Woodford and Rebecca Loeber also  represented FGC on another outreach of this ministry called Beautiful Ones.

Jim and Ann Mills
Creative Missions International - Europe

The Mills have lived in Europe for several decades where they have used the Arts as a Gospel outreach tool in a very secular part of the world.Their Artists of Faith network spans 12 EU countries, and they have active events and ongoing ministry in 9 European nations.
The Mills were in Finland last month. They also recently celebrated an amazing art exhibit by a Creative Arts Europe artist in Denmark.

Teen Mission Trip
We sent a large team to New York City this summer to do street ministry. We were able to supplement the team in a substantial way because of your generosity to give towards this fund. Let’s continue to invest in our young people. They are world changers, and we can help give them opportunities to let them realize that.

Picture
Mike and Mollie Haught
Turkey

Mike and Mollie are long-distance missionaries.  They continue to support mission work in Turkey and various other countries. Their emphasis is on media outreach, children, and Bible translation and distribution. Radio and television programming continues to be extremely effective outreaches for the Gospel in Muslim nations.  As the government continues to persecute the Christians in Turkey, the work that we are supporting through Mike and Mollie is more significant than ever. Media ministry broadcasting into this predominantly Muslim nation is filling a void that is not being filled by other means at this moment in history. The Haughts are partnering with Crossover Global’s The Strategic Turkish Initiative and Mars Hill Productions to employ powerful tools to preach the gospel.

Ben Holloway
Impartation Ministries

Ben Holloway is a traveling evangelist that we were introduced to about 12 years ago by Dr. Crum. Ben plans to go back to Villahermosa, Mexico (Covid notwithstanding) by the end of the year where he gives apostolic oversight to ten churches in the state of  Tobasco. The Disciple-Making Movement he’s involved with in Honduras has over 20,000 groups, weekly reaching 211,000 people, over 13,000 first-time decisions for Christ per week and 2500 baptisms per month, working with 42 denominations in a Catholic nation.
Ben and others are hosting a conference in November for the international zoom call network he started in April 2020.  He thought the call  would last for 2 weeks, but it is now in the 78th consecutive week!

Apostle Kwasi Appiah
Waves of Glory  -  Ghana

Our long friendship and relationship with Apostle Kwasi is a blessing. From his base in Kumasi, Ghana, Apostle Kwasi travels extensively throughout Africa to spread the gospel. His trips into rural, desert communities have yielded several new church plants despite the strong Muslim influence. Kwasi is an apostolic father to several younger pastors and an advisor to some governmental leaders.
The $3000 investment contributed last year by Freedom Gate Church for an ultrasound machine for Kwasi’s health clinic was a huge blessing.  The government insisted that Kwasi have a part-time physician on staff, in addition to a physician’s assistant. Other supporters of his ministry helped raise the funds to hire  Dr. Gabriel Asiedu. The clinic is functioning at a high level and is highly regarded in that region.  Their current goal is to take the clinic to the next level.

Picture
Mark and Altia Legters
Merida, Mexico
Mark and Altia are seasoned church planters in Merida, Mexico. They teach advanced Bible classes, serve as interpreters, and connect with local governmental leaders. This past year Altia  had the opportunity to serve in governmental places of influence. They often host ministries coming into their region to strengthen the church in Mexico. The Legters recently were involved in a large Pro-Life march.

High On Hope - Tim Craft
High on Hope, a ministry to those who battle drug addiction in the Mid Ohio Valley, has expanded this past year by getting a building in Parkersburg where they can meet regularly. They continue to do many outreaches and plan to do more as pandemic restrictions lift. The team has traveled to Akron and Logan, WV. They have helped hundreds of addicts get treatment. Outdoor meetings are regularly held at the City Park, Point Park and Civitan Park. Tim and Abby Craft are working on a treatment facility for women in Vincent, OH, that they hope to launch in early 2022.
Our support this year will go to a new project called Reach the Streets, a monthly opportunity to feed people.

Young Life - Kirk Wilson/Jim Sallie
After essentially being forced to close last year due to the pandemic, Young Life is coming back strong. Young Life is a relational ministry to high schoolers. They are now meeting on Wednesdays for Game Night and on Thursdays for Open Gym at South Parkersburg Baptist Church, conveniently located beside the high school. Kirk Wilson leads this outreach and is happy to report WildLife (an equivalent outreach to junior high age students) is ready to kick off at Jackson Middle School in Vienna.
The third branch of this ministry is Young Lives, a mentorship program to support and come alongside teen moms.

Latrobe Street Mission
Local Ministries

The Latrobe Street Mission in Parkersburg continues to house many people each night who have no place to stay. Additionally, the separate facility for sober living opened on October 1st, 2019. A sober living facility is a safe place to rehab. This will serve as an interim environment between rehab and mainstream society for men who have already been through treatment. Our funds will help maintain all that is being done at the Mission to provide shelter to those who are needing this temporary housing.

Picture
Gospel Mission Food Pantry
Local Ministries

The pantry continues to serve the Marietta area with food, toiletries, clothing and more. This local pantry serves over 200 people weekly in Marietta. Jeff and Candy Waite do an excellent job of touching people’s lives for Jesus, offering prayer and free Bibles to anyone who comes for food assistance. They also have a clothes closet and do local shoebox gifts for needy children at Christmas.

Picture
Fellowship Of Christian Students - Joe Duskey
Local Ministries
Joe is the student leader of a new group at Fort Frye high school where he is reaching out to other students. Their weekly meetings are sponsored by his aunt, Stephanie Lang. The group is served pizza each week at a cost of $50 and Joe would appreciate support for this outreach.

Picture
Kim Duskey's Bible Club
Local Ministries

Kim Duskey is a teacher in a local school who has been leading the Bible Club for many years. She genuinely cares for her students and their families. In addition to an after-school club, she tries to expose the children to Christian outreach events and help them learn about the Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry.

Picture
Women’s Care Center
Women’s Care Center is a medical clinic that provides positive solutions for women who are dealing with a planned or unplanned pregnancy. They have been in operation since 1991 serving thousands of women, their partners and families. They are  a compassionate, frontline ministry making a difference in the lives of moms and babies in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Their ability to counsel, as well as perform ultrasounds (163 done the first half of this year), has changed the minds of expectant mothers who go on to give birth to their babies instead of aborting them. Their state of the art facilities include exam and consultation rooms as well as a baby supply store/closet. With the addition of new staff members and a full slate of volunteers, there is growing momentum as WCC returned to the schools this fall with their message of abstinence.

Strategic Mission Fund
This contingency fund  meets needs not specifically addressed in our conference. We help with unexpected expenses such as flooding or assisting missionaries with an immediate need. This year we helped Richard Jolliff’s church fund a mission trip, shipped boxes of clothing to Street Life, fixed comfort baskets for the medical staff at Marietta Memorial on 3 occasions and helped our friend Tom Demaree with his current prayer walk assignment. This fund helps us respond to outreach needs in a timely manner.
